A Royal Commission into the nature and extent of corruption, criminal conduct and serious misconduct in relation to major construction projects in Victoria.
The Royal Commission into the Integrity of Major Public and Civil Infrastructure Construction Projects in Victoria was established by the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, Governor of Victoria, on 20 August 2026. By Letters Patent, the Governor appointed The Honourable Christopher Kourakis AC as Commissioner to inquire into and report on matters relating to corruption, criminal conduct and serious misconduct on or in relation to major construction projects in Victoria.
The Commission will report to the Victorian Government on matters relating to its terms of reference and objectives by no later than 20 August 2027, or such later date as agreed between the Commission and the Premier of Victoria.
Opening hearing
The Commission’s opening hearing will be held on Wednesday, 23 September 2026, commencing at 10 am in Court Room G.2, Melbourne Magistrates’ Court, 233 William Street, Melbourne.
